Not all Care Homes are members of Looking for Care℠. We represent truly the best in the industry.
Before membership is granted, our Care Guides visit and tour each Member's Care Home personally and Members must meet our strict standards.
There are almost 6,200 licensed Care Homes in California today. One out of every five Residents of Assisted Living reside in a Care Home of less than 15 rooms.
Until recently, Care Home owners had very few resources to help them connect with folks like you.
Care Home owners represent the very best of American small business owners...but not all Care Homes qualify as Looking for Care℠ Members. Before membership is granted, our Care Guides visit and tour each prospective Member's Care Home personally.
Members must meet our strict standards.
If the answer is less than a resounding "yes," then that Care Home is not a membership candidate. If we can't imagine our own family member living there... we would never recommend it to you.
Each Member's Care Home will be:
We have developed four categories of Membership standards: Compliance, Cleanliness, Cuisine, and Care.
Looking for Care℠ monitors these four standards within our Members through multiple channels. We also provide Members resources to receive training for best practices and continuous improvement.
We are alerted whenever a Member is visited by the California Department of Social Services (or "DSS"). Visits may be routine in nature, as a result of a complaint or allegation, or in follow-up to a Plan-of-Correction.
Once we are alerted, our Compliance Team reviews the reason for the visit and closely monitors any resulting citations. Members who fall out of compliance lose their Membership Privileges.
Looking forward to mealtimes and fresh, healthy food are two of the most important strategies to help Older Adults stay out of the hospital. Our Members strive to serve home-cooked/home-made meals.
Further, our Members cater to the special diets and personal tastes/preferences of their Residents. Our Members frequently treat their Residents to their favorite dishes.
Our Member's Home must be clean, tidy, and odor-free.
Our team physically visits each Member's Care Home prior to granting membership and continues to monitor all Members.
When our team visits a prospective Care Home, we pay close attention to the current Residents living there. We expect Residents to be dressed in clean clothes for the day. Our expectation is that our Members' Residents are well-groomed, alert, and engaged.
Finally, we encourage Resident Families to post reviews and testimonials. We carefully monitor this feedback to make sure no customer service issues have arisen or go unaddressed.
